New York City: A video has gone viral on social media in which a couple can be seen moving erratically under a blanket in a park in US’ New York City. In the past two days, the video has attracted 40 million views. It has also received a lot of criticism.

The clip was uploaded to TikTok last month

According to media reports, a person named @girlsorwomen shared the clip on TikTok. In the video, a couple appeared to have sex under a dark green blanket inside Battery Park. It went viral soon after being uploaded on social media last month. In addition, one day after the video was uploaded, another clip of the same couple was uploaded to TikTok. In this video too, the couple was seen emerging from the blanket.

The song ‘Dolce Nonna’ by Amy Hayashi-Jones and Wayne Jones can be heard in the background in the original clip. The video was uploaded with the caption ‘Trying to enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon in NYC.’

Reactions in social media

One of the social media users wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Idk I feel like people are not taking the NYC blanket couple seriously enough for me. They are having sex in a park in front of children like that is not OK.

Another expressed, “Ew that NYC couple that had public sex under a blanket needs to be euthanized!!! Children were playing like 4 feet away from them??? IN A BUSY PUBLIC PARK!!”

A third person commented, “That couple really went out to a busy park in NYC, put a blanket over themselves & thought no one would notice?!?! They couldn’t get a motel or something?”

Another user commented, “Well here you have it I thought I’ve seen it all, 2 couples having sex in broad daylight in the park of NYC!? In front of children’s band all to see! What has America turned into a BLIND side! Tourists BEWARE!”

“This couple had sex under their blanket in battery park nyc. It’s wild. Parents with kids everywhere and no one called police,” wrote another user.

While what happened inside the blanket was not shown in the video, social media users seem to believe that the couple went on an adventurous hike in the park. The couple hasn’t come forward to dispute the claims made on social media so far.
