The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduation (NEET-PG) has been postponed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which was scheduled to take place on June 23, 2024. As per the ministry, the new date will be announced soon.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE), a body independent from the Health Ministry, conducts NEET-PG.

The decision was taken by the ministry taking into account recent allegations where the integrity of certain competitive exams was questioned. The ministry made it clear that their decision was made in the best interests of the students and to safeguard the integrity of the examination process.

As per media reports, the decision is being criticized because some students had to travel to other cities to take the exam. However, other media associations have questioned the repeated changes in the exam schedule.

The date of NEET PG 2024 was originally announced for March 3, but it was later rescheduled to July 7 in January 2024. But then in March 2024, the NBE announced that the exam would be advanced to June 23, which has now been postponed once again.

The announcement of the postponement comes amid countrywide protests against the ongoing NEET UG exam, which has been marred by allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities.
