CBSE has released the syllabus for CBSE Class 10 and 12 for the academic year 2024-25.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CBSE Class 10, 12 syllabus for the academic year 2024-25. The CBSE curriculum and internal assessment information are now available on the board’s official websites, cbse.gov.in and cbseacademic.nic.in.

The CBSE Board has recently published the syllabus and other assessment details in Hindi. The curriculum can now be accessed by students in both English and Hindi.

All CBSE schools were asked to study the National Credit Framework developed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to make school education more flexible and multi-disciplinary to address the challenges of the twenty-first century. The credit system recommends expanding the number of required subjects and learning hours.

According to the school board, the recent focus of CBSE is on developing 21st-century skills in settings where each student feels independent, safe, and comfortable with learning. The board also stated that children must get adequate knowledge and abilities in other basic areas such as health and physical education, life skills, values education, art education, financial literacy, digital literacy, and work education.

CBSE Class 10 syllabus 2024-25

Class 10 students have five required studies and two elective subjects. Mathematics board exams are administered at two levels in Class 10. Students who choose mathematics as a basic course will have the option to take applied mathematics (241) as an elective in Class 11, rather than mathematics (041). Those who choose mathematics – standard, on the other hand, will be able to choose either of the two accessible mathematics disciplines at the senior secondary level.

  • Language 1 (Hindi – Course A or Course B or English Language and Literature or English Communicative)
  • Language 2 (Anyone from the Group of Languages), Social Science, Mathematics – Basic or Mathematics Standard and Science: Compulsory
  • Skill-based subjects/Elective subjects and Language 3: Optional.
  • Health and Physical Education, Work Experience, and Art Education are compulsory subjects that are assessed internally by schools.

CBSE Class 12 syllabus 2024:

The CBSE Class 12 curriculum includes seven main learning areas: languages, humanities, mathematics, sciences, skill subjects, general studies, and health and physical education.

  • Language 1: Hindi elective or Hindi core or English elective or English core.
  • Language 2/Subject 2: Any one language or any academic elective.
  • Subject 3, Subject 4, and Subject 5: Any three compulsory electives from a pool of academic and skill-based subjects.
  • Language 3/Subject 6: Any optional elective from a pool of languages, academic and skill subjects.
  • Health and Physical Education, Work Experience, and General Studies are compulsory subjects that only require internal assessment.
